Spend an Evening with John Wilkes Booth

Southern Maryland holds a unique place in history. Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth and an associate got medical care at Dr. Samuel Mudd’s home in Waldorf as they fled Washington, DC, following the assassination of the president in 1865. This weekend, you can hear the story from Booth himself – or at least an interpreter portraying him.

The Society for the Restoration of Port Tobacco presents “An Evening with John Wilkes Booth and Friends on Rich Hill” on Friday, March 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Port Tobacco Court House, 8430 Commerce St. in Port Tobacco.

Historian David Taylor will portray Booth, and Mike Mazzeo will represent Friends of Rich Hill. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.
