2017 Kids’ Bedroom Trends are Fun and Functional

As a kid, how many times did you redecorate your room?

We’re betting you changed the look of your bedroom more than once. A babyish nursery gave way to a little kid’s room. When you were a teenager, that small child’s room was too young for you, so you probably decorated again in junior high or high school (or both).

If that sounds exhausting, you’ll love one of the current trends in kids’ rooms: Colors, furnishings, and accents that can grow with the child. Instead of bold, bright colors, families are choosing muted colors and pastels that are adorable for a baby’s nursery but also appropriate for a preteen or teenager. Basic items in neutral colors go with any color scheme the child may choose as he or she grows up.

Another trend? Lots of storage baskets and bins that are as fun as they are functional. Storage is a must for any kids’ room, and it might as well be cute, too!
