St. Charles Towne Center
Santa has been in residence at the St. Charles Towne Center mall in Waldorf since Nov. 11. Find him there every day until Saturday, Dec. 24, when he must return home for his big journey. Ring in the season at this Southern Maryland holiday tradition! Leonardtown’s Christmas on the Square and Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will take place Friday, Nov. 25, at 5 p.m. Festivities include music, sleigh rides, living nativity, petting zoo, and stories with Mrs. Claus. Begin your holiday festivities at the Solomons Christmas Walk! This annual event takes place Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. both days. Stroll the luminaria-lit streets and enjoy a variety of activities on Solomons Island. See the lighted boat parade and enjoy music performances. The Calvert Marine Museum will also offer holiday activities, and admission is free! Santa Claus will be visiting on both nights. La Plata Library
Visit with Santa at the library! The La Plata Branch of the Charles County Public Library will host Santa Claus for its annual Visit with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Hear stories and songs, make crafts, and write your letter to Santa before getting a chance meet him. Santa and Mrs. Claus make a special appearance during Sotterley Plantation’s annual Family Plantation Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy shopping, carriage rides, mini plantation house tours, craft and activities, music and more! Breakfast with Santa
Several organizations are hosting Santa Claus for special family breakfasts.
Saturday, Dec. 17: Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad, 755 Solomons Island Road South in Prince Frederick. 8 to 11 a.m. Enjoy a home-cooked breakfast that includes bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, hash browns, juices, milk, and coffee.
