Party with the Otters at Ottermania!
The Calvert Marine Museum’s otters are cute and fun to watch. Come celebrate them this Saturday!
The museum will host Ottermania in honor of its favorite mammals on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dance “The Swim” with the museum’s otter mascots, get your face painted for $5, make an otter-themed craft, touch otter fur, and learn “otterly” terrific facts! (Their pun, not ours!)

Friends of the Library Hosts Annual Book Sale
If you love books, you don’t want to miss the big book sale in St. Mary’s County this weekend!
The Friends of the St. Mary’s Library will host its annual spring book sale on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown. The public sale is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
A special Friends members-only preview sale will take place on Friday, April 13, from noon to 8 p.m. Not a member? You can join online or at the door.

Drink Southern Maryland Wines and Spirits, Help Animals in Need!

If you answered “Yes!” to either question, the Humane Society of Charles County has the perfect event for you!
The humane society’s second annual “Pouring for Paws” Wine Tour will take place Saturday, April 14, from 12:30 to 6 p.m. You’ll be picked up at Blue Dyer Distilling, 52 Industrial Park Drive in Waldorf, and transportation will be provided to all venues. The tour will take you to three local wineries and return you to Blue Dyer. Stops on the tour are:
- Romano (wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres)
- JaneMark (wine tasting and silent auction)
- Gemeny (wine tasting, private tour, and dessert)
- Blue Dyer (rum, whiskey, and gin tasting and silent auction)
