River Concert Series Celebrates Bernstein’s Birthday
Few summer events in Southern Maryland are as anticipated as the River Concert Series at St. Mary’s College of Maryland! Now in its 20th year, the second concert in this year’s series will take place Friday, June 29, at 9 p.m. on the college’s Townhouse Green. The grounds open at 5 p.m.
The River Concert Series events are free.
On Friday, the Chesapeake Orchestra and Music Director Jeffrey Silberschlag present “A River Series 4th.” The concert will celebrate composer Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday anniversary. The orchestra will perform works by Bernstein, Tchaikovsky, Sousa, and more. Fireworks end the evening.

Waterpark Plans Fourth of July Celebration
Where can you splash and play and celebrate the red, white, and blue?
At the Chesapeake Beach Waterpark in Chesapeake Beach! The waterpark will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, and you can watch the Town of Chesapeake Beach fireworks show from the park at 9 p.m.!

Local Horse Rescue Hosts Beer and Wine Festival
Freedom Hill Horse Rescue will host its first Spirits and Steeds Beer and Wine Festival on Satruday, June 30, from 1 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at the rescue at 7940 N. Flint Hill Road in Owings.
The festival features Mully’s Brewery, Greenspring Brewery, and Whistle Stop Winery as well as more than 30 vendors, food trucks, and live music. The event is sponsored by Holiday Inn and Republic Services.
Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for designated drivers.
