When I say “decorating with pink,” what room in your Southern Maryland home comes to mind? The nursery? A little girl’s room?

How about pink in any room in your home?

In a recent article for Houzz, interior designer Lisa Batson Goldberg argues for the presence of pink anywhere in your home – while acknowledging that pink is a bold choice and not right for every homeowner.

What do you think? Would you take pink outside of a child’s room? If you dare, Goldberg suggests five colors that pair well with pink. Tops on her list? Black, because it grounds pink and creates drama. The other colors on the list are teal, gray, blue, and – perhaps shockingly – red. Check out the article for Goldberg’s explanation of why each color works with pink. Plus, there are lots of photos to inspire you to decorate with pink.

Not ready to buy pink furniture or paint? Goldberg suggests adding pops of this happy color through accessories, flowers, or textiles. You don’t need a lot of pink, she says, for it to have an impact.
