Start Your Garden at Summerseat’s Plant Sale

How does your garden grow?

Fill in your garden beds at Summerseat’s Annual Plant Sale. The event will take place Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Summerseat Farm, 26655 Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville.

This huge sale features a wide selection of annuals, perennials, flowering baskets, herbs, vegetable plants, flowering shrubs and native plants. It’s the perfect place to pick up a beautiful Mother’s Day gift and stock your garden! Master Gardeners will be there to answer questions and
offer assistance, and food will be for sale at the Courtyard Café. You’ll also enjoy music by Joe Norris.

Barstow Acres Children’s Center Hosts Open House

Bring the whole family and support the work of the Barstow Acres Children’s Center!

The BACC will host its Spring Fling Open House on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, which is located at 590 Main St. in Prince Frederick.

Spend the day with the staff and volunteers of Barstow Acres Children’s Center and learn what it is all about! Shop from supporting crafters and vendors, have lunch, and participate in free family fun! You’ll help support the at-risk children that BACC serves during its therapeutic summer day camp.

Bluegrass Concert Benefits Local Rescue Squad

Get those toes tapping for a great cause!

The Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad will host its annual Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, May 11, from noon to 6 p.m. The event takes place at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown.

Gates open at 11 a.m.

The concert features The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys and The Virginia Ramblers. Local bands Recycled Bluegrass, The Dixie Ramblers, 15 Strings, and the Hump Day Band will also perform. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a
John Deere wagon raffle. Food will be available for purchase.

Chairs are provided or bring your own. BYOB.
