Hospice of Charles County will host its annual 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on Saturday, April 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium, 11765 St. Linus Drive in Waldorf. On-site registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; the walk/run kicks off at 9 a.m.

Celebrate Earth Day at Sotterley Plantation
Sunday is Earth Day, and Sotterley Plantation is offering the perfect way to celebrate: A bird walk!
The historic plantation will host Eagles, Earth Day, and Sotterley on Sunday, April 22, from noon to 4 p.m. The walk is free, but advance registration is required. RSVP to [email protected] or 240-278-4473.
The walk takes place as the annual surge of migrating birds begins in St. Mary’s county. Walk Sotterley’s extensive new trail system and look for nesting bald eagles, migrating warblers, meadowlarks, woodpeckers, and waterfowl. All of these can be found on the plantation’s property.

The Fairies Return to Annmarie Garden!
The fairies and gnomes are back at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center, and you’re invited to meet them this weekend.
Annmarie Garden will host its annual Fairy & Gnome Home Festival on Sunday, April 22, from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $7 per person. Members and kids age 2 and younger are free.
You’ll enjoy an over-the-top magical afternoon of creative play, games, unicorn rides, petting zoo, face painting, crafts, and more! Meet the Chesapeake Mermaid and the Green Man of the Forest. Visit the magical Fairy Lolly, Stone Spire Circle, Bubblelandia, Gnomeville, Treetopia, Land of Mystical Creatures, and the Dragon’s Lair. You can even build your own fairy house or gnome home, make a journey stick, craft a fairy house finder, make a pinecone suncatcher, visit the Wishing Tree, and play in a variety of imaginative activities!
There will also be live music, and food and drinks will be available for sale.
