There’s so much to do in Southern Maryland this weekend, your family will have trouble picking just one activity! Here are just three of the events happening in the region this weekend, July 26-28, 2019.

National Colonial Farm Tells Stories in “Museum Theater”

Get a deeper understanding of Maryland’s history and experience the drama of family life in 1770 with scripted vignettes featuring residents of the National Colonial Farm.

The farm presents “Museum Theater” on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, from 1 to 5 p.m. Shows take place every hour on the hour from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum and the performance is free.

This weekend’s theater presentation “Reunion of Cate & Jack: A Cate Sharper Story,” tells the story of an emotional reunion between mother and son. In 1765 Cate Sharper’s son Jack was sold away before he had even reached age 13. Heartbroken at the loss of her child, she was still expected to tend to the tobacco for her master. Now, five years later, she has received word that he has been granted permission for a visit.
