No matter where you go in Southern Maryland this weekend, you’re sure to find something fun that the whole family will enjoy. Check out just three of the events happening in the region this weekend, Aug. 17-19, 2018.

Twin Beach Players Presents 13th Annual Kids’ Playwriting Festival

The Twin Beach Players asked kid playwrights to submit their plays, and did they ever! After a record-breaking year of submissions by the community’s children, six plays have been chosen for the 13th Annual Kids’ Playwrighting Festival.

The festival will take place through Aug. 19 at the Boys and Girls Club, 9021 Dayton Ave. in North Beach.

The six plays will be produced, directed, and star the youth membership of the Twin Beach Players. This year’s winning plays include real life situations, many of which are experienced by our children daily, and are quite personal to today’s youth.

Performances are at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 17 and 18, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19. Tickets are $7 each
