Santa Visits the Fly-In Farmer’s Market
Meet Santa and get your last-minute food for Christmas dinner!
Historic Sotterley will sponsor its second annual Fly-In Farmer’s Market on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Regional Airport, 44200 Airport Road in California. Anyone with their own aircraft is welcome to “fly in” for the market!
Santa will make a visit from the North Pole and is expected to arrive by helicopter around 11 a.m.
Whether you are treating yourself or finding the perfect hostess gift to being to a party, you’re sure to find something for both the naughty and nice. This year’s holiday favorites include: Cupcakes, French and sourdough bread, natural beef and pork, pasture-raised chicken and eggs,Maryland distilled bourbon and rum, plus chocolates, coffees, local oysters, mushrooms, honey, popcorn, and flavored oils and vinegars.
This is the first of three fly-in farmer’s markets this season.

Greet Santa and Mrs. Claus in Leonardtown
Santa and his lovely wife are making a return trip to Leonardtown!
The annual Santa & Mrs. Claus on the Square event will take place Saturday, Dec. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Square in downtown Leonardtown. This event is free and open to the public.

Calvert One-Room Schoolhouse Celebrates Christmas
What did Christmas look like 100 years ago?
The One-Room Schoolhouse in Port Republic will be decked out for the holidays on Sunday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The schoolhouse is located at 3080 Broomes Island Road in Port Republic.
There will also be period crafts for kids and the young at heart, refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus. The schoolhouse will be decorated as it might have been during the holidays 100 years ago.
