June wraps up in Southern Maryland with a full calendar of events! Here are just three of the fun things happening in the region this weekend, June 28-30, 2019.
Activity Center Hosts “Bingo and Burgers” for Grandparents and Grandkids
Have a great time with your school-age grandchildren at the Northern Senior Activity Center’s intergenerational Bingo and Burgers!
The event will take place Friday, June 28, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the activity center, which is located at 29655 Charlotte Hall Road in Charlotte Hall.
Cost is $2 per person for two cards, and there will be adult- and kid-friendly prizes. Refreshments will be available, and the kid-friendly lunch menu includes hamburgers, baked beans, coleslaw, watermelon, and dessert.
Advance signup is required for bingo and lunch. The cost of lunch is a donation for seniors age 60 and older, and $6 for others made the day of the event. To sign up and pay for the event, visit the front desk at the activity center.
Annual Run/Walk Benefits Prince Frederick VFD
Lace up your sneakers for a foot race to benefit local firefighters!
The 3rd Annual Daring the Blaze 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, June 29, from 7 to 10 a.m. The race is sponsored by the Dares Beach Civic Association and begins at the intersection of Dares Beach Road and Macrae Avenue in Prince Frederick.
The race starts and ends in the bayside community of Dares Beach and winds through neighborhood streets, over hills, and along the Chesapeake Bay. Early registration has ended, but you can register the day of the race beginning at 7 a.m. Check-in also opens at 7 a.m., and the race starts at
8 a.m.
There will be post-race food, performance awards, and water stops. The race benefits the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department.

Find Treasures at Waldorf Jaycees’ Yard Sale and Flea Market

The Greater Waldorf Jaycees will host a yard sale and flea market on Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at the Jaycees, which is located at 3090 Crain Highway in Waldorf.
