The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society will open its new season with “Winter Melodies Old and New,” a concert featuring holiday music from many eras, beginning in the Renaissance.

There are three opportunities to enjoy the concert, and each includes food!

Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3:30: This afternoon concert will
be followed by a dessert Reception. Cost is $15 per person and $12 for seniors, students, and military.

All performances will take place a Peace Lutheran Church, which is located at 401 E. Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. Tickets are available at www.Chesapeakechoral.com or by phone at 301-642-0594.

Have Breakfast with Santa at the Forrest Center

Join the Man in Red for a festive holiday breakfast!

The students and staff of the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center will host their annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the school, which is located at 24005 Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown.

Santa will make his grand entrance at 8:30 a.m.

The delicious breakfast will be prepared by the center’s Culinary Arts students. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for kids age 3 and younger. An omelet bar is available for an additional $2.

There will also be face painting, gingerbread cookies, and crafts. Children can shop for small gifts (most less than $10) at Santa’s Workshop. Forrest Center students will help the kids show, and their purchases will be wrapped.

Bring your camera for photos with Santa, or let students from the Forrest Center take pictures for you! For $5, families will receive a CD with up to five poses.

Proceeds from the event benefit the center’s SkillsUSA chapter and student programs.
