Celebrate Maryland Day Where It All Began

What better place to celebrate Maryland’s anniversary than the places where Maryland was born?

Historic St. Mary’s City will host a Maryland Day celebration on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The official program begins at 1
p.m., and the day will include pageantry, speeches, and free admission to the living history museum and its exhibits.

You can also visit the St. Clement’s Island Museum on Monday, March 25, which is Maryland’s actual founding day. King’s Christian Academy Presents ‘Anne of Green Gables’

The story of irresistible orphan Anne Shirley will delight audiences this weekend!

King’s Christian Academy in Callaway presents three performances of “Anne of Green Gables” this week. The show will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, March 21 and 22; and at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.

This family-friendly play tells the classic story of L.M. Montgomery’s charming orphan girl from her first encounter with her austere guardian
to her graduation from Queen’s Academy.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students in advance. Order advance tickets by calling 301-994-3080. Tickets are $12 for adults
and $7 for children and students at the door.

Find Fun at the Fishing Fair!

Ready for spring and summer fun on the water?

Don’t hit the water until you’ve attended the Fishing Fair and Boat Safety Expo! The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and
24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown.

The fair will include vendors selling fishing rods, fishing tackle, fishing trips, artwork, and food to fishing enthusiasts. Speakers will
address saltwater and freshwater fishing opportunities in Southern Maryland as well as fishing camps for children ages 7 to 14 years old. The Boat Safety Exposition will include boat safety preparation, training, and demonstrations for boaters by federal, state, and local organizations.
