November in Southern Maryland Begins with Fall Events This Weekend, Nov. 1-3, 2019

Can you believe it is November already? Fill your calendar with these great events happening in Southern Maryland this weekend, Nov. 1-3, 2019.

Run/Walk Event Benefits Local Conservation and Research Projects

Lace up your running and walking shoes to benefit local
conservation efforts!

The Jug Bay Run for Wildlife will take place Saturday, Nov.
2, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Patuxent River Park, 16000 Croom Airport Road in
Upper Marlboro.

Registration on race day begins at 7 a.m. Cost the day of
the race is $35 for 10K runners, $30 for 5K runners, and $25 for walkers. Proceeds
from the run and walk benefit conservation projects, research, and education aimed
at preserving the Patuxent River’s natural wildlife.

The 10K and 5K routes will take you along the Chesapeake Bay
Critical Area Driving tour of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning
Commission and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. These races begin
at 9 a.m.

The 3K walk begins at 9:15 a.m. and will be led by a park
naturalist.

Find Family Fun at Annual Carnival and Vendor Fair

Bring the whole family for a day of fall fun!

The King’s Christian Academy will host its annual Community
Carnival & Craft/Vendor Fair on Saturday, Nov. 2, from noon to 6 p.m. The
event will take place at the school, which is located at 20738 Point Lookout
Road in Callaway.

This family-friendly event will include 40 crafters and
vendors and more than 30 carnival attractions, including a zip line, climbing
wall, laser tag, obstacle course, pony rides, and more! Dexter Manely, former defensive
end for the Washington Redskins will be there from 2 to 4 p.m. to sign
autographs and take pictures.

Hungry? Freshly prepared food such as hamburgers, hot dogs,
Italian sausage, pizza, and more will be for sale.
