Every home has one: A junk drawer. It’s a place where you stash items that have no obvious home, but they are things you’re glad you have handy when you need them.
I don’t know why we call it a junk drawer; most of what’s in mine isn’t junk. It’s stuff I need! But I think I will be adding a few things to my junk drawer, based on this list of 10 essentials from home expert Bob Vila. Here are a few highlights:
- A tiny screwdriver or screwdriver set for fixing small items like glasses and toys
- Super glue (a must-have in my house!)
- Wood stain marker
- Measuring tape so you’re not searching for one in the garage
- Matches or a lighter
- Box cutter or utility knife
- Flashlight
