Spring Dell Center Celebrates 50 Years with Annual Auction

Support a good cause and have a great time!

The Spring Dell Center will host its 24th Annual Auction and Dinner on Friday, Nov. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Waldorf Jaycees, 3090 Crain Highway in Waldorf. This year’s theme is “Cheers to 50 Years,” and the event will provide funding for Spring Dell’s programs connecting people with disabilities to the community and employment throughout Charles County.

Bid on more than 200 items showcased in live and silent auctions and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner. Auction items include antiques, sports packages, home décor, art work, sports memorabilia. Disney passes, and more!

“Twas the Night Before Christmas” Opens this Weekend!

What happens when Santa misses one family’s house?

Find out when the Newtowne Players’ production of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” opens this weekend!

The play follows the wild holiday adventures of a mouse, an elf, and a spunky little girl who just won’t take no for an answer. This show is sure to be fun for the whole family!

“Twas the Night Before Christmas” runs from Friday, Nov. 17, through Sunday, Dec. 10. Please note that there are no shows Thanksgiving weekend. The play will take place at Three Notch Theatre, 21744 South Coral Drive in Lexington Park.

Walk to End Homelessness in Charles County

As the temperatures drop, local homeless people and families need a place to go at night. Charles County’s “Safe Nights” program offers them emergency shelter.

The Charles County Walk to End Homelessness will support Safe Nights, and you can participate! The walk will take place Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the La Plata Town Hall, 305 Queen Anne St. in La Plata.

The walk is three miles long. To register as a team or individual, visit www.lifestylesofmd.org. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
