There’s only one guy the kids want to see at Christmastime, and lucky for us, he’ll be making several appearances throughout Southern Maryland before Christmas! If you (or someone you know) is looking for Santa Claus, find him at these local places and events now through Christmas.

St. Charles Center Mall

Santa Claus is in residence at the mall now! You’ll find him there every day until Christmas Eve, when he has to jet back to the North Pole and hop in his sleigh. Santa is available for pictures and wish lists at Center Court, but you can also meet him at special events like a breakfast on Dec. 2 and story time on Dec. 15. A special subdued morning with Santa is available for children with sensory needs on Dec. 3. Even pets can meet Santa Claus – he’ll take pictures with pets on Dec. 10.

Register for special events and see Santa’s daily hours at the mall’s website; click “News and Events:” http://www.simon.com/mall/st-charles-towne-center

Leonardtown Square

When the tree is lit on the Leonardtown Square, guess who will be there? Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus! The town’s annual Christmas on the Square event will take place Friday, Nov. 24, from 5 to 9 p.m. Festivities include train rides, fire trucks, music and entertainment, a live nativity, and more.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus return to the Square on Saturday, Dec. 16, to hear your Christmas wishes! Bring your camera and come to meet them from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Solomons Island

The Solomons Christmas Walk is an annual tradition! It takes place Wednesday, Nov. 29, through Saturday, Dec. 2. Stroll the luminaria-lit streets and enjoy a variety of activities on the island. On Friday, Dec. 1, the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department will bring Santa Claus to the gazebo at 6:30 p.m. for the tree lighting. Hollywood

Santa and Mrs. Claus make a special appearance during Sotterley Plantation’s annual Family Plantation Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy live demonstrations, a holiday scavenger hunt, carolers, Plantation House tours, shopping, and more! Admission is $5 per person; children under age 2 are free. In the morning, sign up for breakfast at Santa’s Table. For tickets for breakfast and more information on both events, visit http://www.sotterleyplantation.com/family-plantation-christmas-sotterley.htm.
