If you’re selling your Southern Maryland home, you want to do anything you can do entice buyers to choose your home – and pay top dollar for it.

One thing you might want to consider NOT adding? A wet bar!

The trend toward open floor plans have ended the usefulness of wet bars in modern homes, says Realtor.com. When your main entertaining space includes a kitchen, there’s no need for a second sink in a bar area. And, a wet bar can make your home look dated to buyers because home bars were most popular in the 1970s and 1980s.

What you might want instead is a dry bar – especially if you’re outfitting in outdoor kitchen or man cave, says Los Angeles bar designer Rikki Klein. A dry bar is a designated bar area (often with a small refrigerator or wine cooler), but there is no sink.
