Happy Thanksgiving! If you’re looking to jump-start your holiday season this weekend, you’ll find lots of events in Southern Maryland to get you into the holiday spirit. Here are just three of the events happening in the region this weekend, Nov. 23-25, 2018.

Discover Winter in Early Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City

How did Marylanders survive winter in the 17th Century?

Find out this weekend at Hearth and Home in Early Maryland
and Historic St. Mary’s City. The event takes place Saturday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 18751 Hogaboom Lane in St. Mary’s City.

Explore 17th-century foodways, and celebrate the end of the
growing season. Discover what it took to weather the winter before
refrigerators, electric stoves, and grocery stores.

Cost is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $6 for youth, and
free for Friends members and children age 5 and younger. Bring a canned good for the Southern Maryland Food Bank and save $1 on admission.
