Summer is in full swing in Southern Maryland! Here are three events to check out this weekend, July 15-17, 2016.
Join the Rubber Ducky Invitational and Raft Races!
Want real summertime fun? Bring a raft – any flotation device will do! – and join the 3rd Annual Rubber Ducky Invitational Beach Party and Raft Race.
The event takes place Saturday, July 16, from noon to 6 p.m. at Fitzie’s Marina Restaurant and Bar, 21540 Joe Hazel Road, in Leonardtown. Proceeds from the event benefits the Southern Maryland Center for Family Advocacy, which provides legal and advocacy services at no cost to victims of domestic violence.
The invitational is an afternoon of sun, fun, food and drink, great music, and raft races! Bring your own raft and join the floating island.

Enjoy Sea Chanteys and Cheer at the Marine Museum
Bring your friends for a rollicking evening of sea chanteys and great drinks! The Calvert Marine Museum will host the first of its three pub nights on Thursday, July 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the museum.
On July 14, will-known chantey singer Myron Peterson of Ship’s Company will perform. Wine and beer will be available for sale.
This is the first of three monthly pub nights that the museum will host. The others will take place on Aug. 24 and Sept. 22.

Floral Design Blooms at Annmarie Garden this Weekend
Floral designers take inspiration from art for a unique weekend-long show at Annmarie Garden Sculpture Garden and Arts Center.
Art Blooms features the work of more than 30 floral designers. Each was assigned a work of art in the Main Gallery or the Mezzanine Gallery and asked to create an arrangement inspired by that work of art. The results are surprising, beautiful, and provocative – and not to be missed!
This is the seventh year for Art Blooms, which is co-hosted by the Calvert Garden Club and Ann’s Circle of Annmarie Garden.
The exhibit is open Friday, July 15, through Sunday, Jul 17. A floral design demonstration takes place Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
