Have you decked the halls yet? Hauled out the holly? The holiday season is in full swing in Southern Maryland, and you can get into the spirit at one of these great events happening here this weekend, Dec. 6-8, 2019.

Festival of Trees Benefits Hospice of St. Mary’s

Stroll through a whimsical world of trees and wreaths – all for a great cause!

Hospice of St. Mary’s Festival of Trees will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, 44219 Airport Road in California. Admission is free.

The trees and wreaths on display have been generously donated, and you can bid on your favorite tree or wreath to take home! There will also be live entertainment, activities for kids, photos with Santa Claus, and more.

Solomons Hosts 35th Annual Christmas Walk

The Solomons Christmas Walk is a festive event for all ages!

The 35th annual Solomons Christmas Walk will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. Many local businesses will host open
houses during the event, and there will be children’s activities and fun for the whole family. Santa Claus arrives at 6:30 p.m., and the lighted boat parade begins at 6:15 p.m. The streets will be lit by luminaria as you enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.

Spend a Winter’s Eve at the National Colonial Farm

Celebrate the season at the Accokeek Foundation’s annual Winter’s Eve celebration!

Winter’s Eve will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Piscataway Park, 3400 Bryan Point Road in Accokeek.

Tour the National Colonial Farm by candlelight while its halls are decked for the holidays, listen to caroling around the bonfire, and enjoy roast-your-own-chestnuts. Visit the crafting tent to create earth-friendly holiday gifts, and make a wreath from farm-fresh greenery. Warm-up with a trip to the hot cocoa bar, and stop by the Visitor Center to shop National Colonial Farm souvenirs and one-of-a-kind gifts from local artists.

Admission is free, but some activities are tickets. Tickets are $1 each, $10 for 12, and $20 for 25. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
