If you’re bored with the bathroom in your Southern Maryland home, redecorating it is an easy way to breathe new life into a tired space.

But what if the layout of your bathroom is just not working for the people who need to use it? Maybe you’re in each other’s way or there’s not enough storage in there. Changing the layout of your bathroom is a big task – and not one that should be done without careful planning.

You can start by searching for “ideal bathroom layouts” on Google or Pinterest, but the truth of the matter is that what works for one family won’t necessarily work for yours. A layout might look great on paper; will it work in real life for your family?

Luckily, Homedit has some great tips for planning the perfect layout for your new bathroom. The most important tip? Remember who is going to be using the bathroom. Consider:

  • The ages and even genders of the people who will need to use the bathroom
  • How many people will need to use it?
  • How many will need to use it at the same time?
  • If two or more people are using the bathroom at once, what will they each need to use it for?
  • How tall are they?

The answers to these questions will help you decide everything else, from the location of the sink and shower to the number of sinks you’ll need.
