Christmas is just a few days away! This week is our last chance to put the finishing touches on the holiday, whether you still have shopping to do or you want to give back to our community. Check out these three events happening in Southern Maryland this weekend, Dec. 21-23, 2018.
Volunteers Needed to Pack and Deliver Holiday Dinners
Mike’s Food Fund needs you!
Mike’s Food Fund needs volunteers to pack and deliver holiday turkey dinners to local families in need. More than 2,500 families will receive meals this year, so if you have time to help this week, it will be appreciated.
Volunteers will be packing and loading dinners, delivering to addresses all over St. Mary’s County, and calling those local to Lexington Park to pick up dinners. Volunteer help is needed every night this weekend from 4 to 6 p.m. at Zion Methodist Church, 21291 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.

See the Festive Decorations at the Calvert County Courthouse
Visit Courthouse Square, Linden, and Boyd’s King Park to enjoy festive seasonal decorations! The Calvert Garden Club has decorated the courthouse for the month of December every year since 1936. This year’s display features evergreen sprays adorning lamp posts with accents of native driftwood, oyster shells, and river birch branches. More than 30 wreaths will decorate the buildings.
Stroll through the decorations now through Tuesday, Jan. 1,2019. The courthouse is located at the Main Street and Church Street in PrinceFrederick. For more information, visit https://calvertgardenclub.com/.

Shop Handmade at the Holiday Maker’s Market
Make this year a handmade holiday!
The last Holiday Maker’s Market of the year will take place
Saturday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Dowell. Admission to the market is free.
