Learn Printmaking from Calvert Artists’ Guild

Curious about printmaking?

You can learn more – and make beautiful note cards – at the Calvert Artists’ Guild’s January workshop. The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mount Hope Community Center, 104 Pushaw Station Road in Sunderland.

Cost is $35 for guild members and $45 for nonmembers.

In the workshop, students will learn how to create a linoleum block printing plate and print it to make multiple note cards. Students will also learn how to get different effects by inking the plate with multiple colors and overprinting the plate a second time. All supplies will be provided,
but students should bring sketches and ideas to work from and lunch. The cards being made measure 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, so all sketches and images should fit within these dimensions.
