St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds Hosts Barn Party
Kick off fall with a good, old fashioned barn party!
The event will take place Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown. Tickets are $8 (suggested donation) and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Tap your feet to live country music by True Blue Country, twirl your partner around the dance floor, and enjoy a catered pulled pork meal. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, photo booth, and door prizes!
Tickets are available for purchase at all St. Mary’s County senior activity centers, while supplies last.

Sample Local Food at Harvest Taste of Solomons
Discover something new in historic Solomons!
The annual Harvest Taste of Solomons will take place Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout Solomons’ town center. Local restaurants will showcase their food and beverage with tastings throughout the day.
Tickets are $5 per tasting and may be purchased at any of the participating businesses. Proceeds benefit the Solomons Business Association’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display.

Visit the Dark Side of Maryland’s First Capital City
Are you brave enough to tour Historic St. Mary’s City – after dark?
The living history museum will host a series of evening tours titled “Adults Only Tour of Town Center: Murder, Magic, and Mayhem.” The one-hour tour dramatizes the darker side of the colony. You’ll find superstition and suspicion!
The tours will take place on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tours begin at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Meet at The Shop at Farthing’s Ordinary to begin the tour.
The tour is designed for patrons age 18 and older. ID is required.
Cost is $20 per person and $15 for Friends members. Register in advance at www.HSMCdigshistory.org; space is limited.
