Can you feel spring in the air? This weekend’s Southern Maryland calendar offers several events for getting out and about and enjoying the season. Here are three events happening in the region this weekend, April 6-8, 2018.

Visit the Fairies at Annmarie Garden!

It’s spring, and that means the fairies and gnomes are back at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center!

You can get a peek at this year’s homes at Fairies in the Garden After Hours on Friday, April 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Annmarie Garden. All of the houses will be displayed indoors for the exhibit’s opening. There will be delicious appetizers by Maryland Country Caterers and live music by Jordana Nye.

Tickets and reservations are not required for this family-friendly event. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids age 3-17, and free for members and kids age two and younger. For more information, visit http://www.annmariegarden.org/annmarie2/content/annmarie-after-hours-25.

The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 7 and 8, at the Solomons Firehouse, at Route 4 and Dowell Road in Solomons. The event is sponsored by the Southern Maryland Chapter of the Southern Maryland Saltwater Sportfishing Association.

The expo features more than 100 vendor tables, speakers and displays, seminars, and boat safety and accident prevention information. Kids can meet Ariel and get their faces painted. There will be raffles and door prizes throughout both days.
