Marine Museum Hosts Jewelry Trunk Show

Is there a better combination than jewelry and chocolate?

Back by popular demand, the Calvert Marine Museum will host the Hewelry Trunk Show this weekend at its museum store. The event will take place from Friday, Feb. 10, through Sunday, Feb. 12. The show is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days.

Treat yourself or someone you love! The trunk show presents a unique selection of jewelry from new artists and perennial favorites. With a purchase of $50 or more, shoppers will receive a free box of sea salt caramels. Artists participating in the trunk show include:

Michelle Pressler, and her modern heirloom jewelry. These elegant, handmade pieces are inspired by nature, architecture, historic details, and modern design, affordable keepsakes that can be worn every day.

Angela Colasanti, of VIELÄ® Jewelry returns with new sterling silver favorites.

Robin Goodfellow Designs with her stunning collection of freshwater pearls and glass, made in the USA.

Krista Sheldon’s individually hand-painted pendants are delicate, unique and tiny works of art.

Special guest Black Point Chocolatier will also be on hand with delectable handcrafted chocolates and confections for sample and for sale.

Newtowne Players Present “Dial M for Murder”

The Newtowne Players will bring the classic crime mystery “Dial M for Murder” to life for audiences this month at Three Notch Theater in Lexington Park.

In the play, Tony Wendice has married his wife, Margot, for her money and now plans to murder her for the same reason. He blackmails a scoundrel he used to know into strangling her and arranges a brilliant alibi for himself. Unfortunately for Tony, the murderer gets killed and the victim survives. What happens next?

You’ll have several opportunities throughout February to find out! The play will be presented at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Feb. 16 and 23; Fridays, Feb. 10, 17, and 24; and Saturdays, Feb. 11, 18, and 25. Matinees will be performed on Sundays, Feb. 12, 19, and 26.

Tickets are $10 general admission for Thursday night performances. For Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances, tickets are $15 adults, $12 seniors/students/military, and $10 for children. For more information or to buy tickets, visit http://www.newtowneplayers.org/.

Spirits of Maryland Comes to Pax River Museum

Where does the “Right Stuff” meet the “strong stuff”?

At the Maryland Distillers Guild’s “Spirits of Maryland: Southern Maryland” event! The event will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum, 22156 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.

Come for an afternoon of Southern Maryland heritage and innovation! You’ll be able to sample Maryland spirits amidst the museum’s grand collection of historic aircraft. You’ll get full access to the museum and enjoy live music and appetizers.

This event is hosted by the Maryland Distiller’s Guild in partnership with the St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce and the St. Mary’s County Tourism Division.

Cost is $45 in advance and $50 at the gate. VIP tickets are $55 in advance and $60 at the gate.
