The rockets’ red glare will be bursting in air over Southern Maryland this week! Communities and organizations are pulling out all the stops for fantastic Fourth of July celebrations. Here’s where you can find fireworks in Southern Maryland for Independence Day.
Fireworks Over the Bay, Chesapeake Beach
When: Wednesday, July 3 (rain date, July 5)
What: Fireworks at dusk over the Chesapeake Bay! Kellam’s Field opens at 4 p.m.; bring blankets, and a picnic for an evening of family fun. Alcohol prohibited.

Fireworks from the Boardwalk, North Beach
When: Wednesday, July 3 (rain date, July 5)
What: Watch the Chesapeake Beach Fireworks Over the Bay from the North Beach boardwalk! The viewing begins at 7:30 p.m.

July Fourth Celebration at the Charles County Fairgrounds, La Plata
When: Thursday, July 4
What: Live music, food, fireworks, and more fun for the whole family! The event begins at 3 p.m. Admission is free.

Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks, Indian Head
When: Thursday, July 4
What: The celebration begins at 3:30 p.m. on the Village Green, with fireworks around 9:10 p.m. There are amusement park rides, food and novelty booths, and entertainment.
Independence Day Concert, Waldorf
When: Thursday, July 4
What: Head out to Regency Furniture Stadium for an evening of local food and drink and live music! Stay for the fireworks, or buy a ticket for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs’ game that evening.

Solomons July 4th Fireworks, Solomons Island
When: Thursday, July 4
What: Huge annual display sponsored by the Solomons Business Association. The show begins between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. A boat parade takes
place at noon.

River Concert Series, St. Mary’s City
When: Friday, July 5
What: The Chesapeake Orchestra performs soundtrack favorites for “A Super Celebration + Fireworks” concert. The concert ends with a fireworks display. Grounds at St. Mary’s College of Maryland open at 5 p.m.; the concert begins at 7 p.m.
