La Plata Hosts Annual Salute to Veterans Parade
Honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces this Sunday
in La Plata.
The town will host its annual Salute to Veterans Parade on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. Community businesses, organizations, and leaders will participate in this annual hometown parade! The parade begins at 1 p.m. at
the Courthouse on Charles Street in La Plata. Bring the kids and your lawn
chairs!

Veterans Day Parade Steps Off in Leonardtown on Monday
Mark Veterans Day at the 44th annual Veterans Day Parade in Leonardtown.
The event will take place Monday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. in Leonardtown. The parade begins at Ryken High School and proceeds along Fenwick Street the Leonardtown Town Square. A memorial wreath-laying ceremony will take
place in the square immediately following the parade.

Ceremonies Planned to Mark Veterans Day
Two local organizations will host ceremonies and open houses the mark Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11.
Chesapeake Beach: American Legion Stallings Williams Post 206 will host a ceremony at Veterans Park, which is at the intersection of Routes 260 and 261 in Chesapeake Beach. The ceremony will begin with bells at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. At 2 p.m., the Post will host an open house at its location at 3330 Chesapeake Beach Road on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach. Waldorf: VFW Post 8810 will host a Veterans Day flag ceremony and gun salute at 11 a.m. The Post is located at 2310 Old Washington Road in Waldorf. After the salute, guests and visitors will move inside for speakers. An open house will take place from noon to 4 p.m.
